Calmness On The Horizon

She was strong.
Way too strong, for too long.
And one day, this strength was gone.
-Broken

After sharing her first poem on her Instagram page back in 2018, Jessica Fiona’s debut poetry collection Calmness On The Horizon was released two years later in October 2020.

Calmness On The Horizon represents a human’s journey of loving, losing, and finding oneself. The adventure of emotional highs and lows, the loves, and the heartbreaks. A melancholy feeling of days gone for too long and nights where we felt alive the most.

Jessica Fiona decided, that even though she never showed herself, people should get a glimpse. The girl on the cover of the book is her, standing beside the place, where she likes to spend time the most: near water.

Calmness On The Horizon is available as e-book and paperback on Amazon.

Play this song one last time,
before I take the final step out of the door.
Play it as you did before, just one last time.
One last goodbye.

– Song of sorrow

calmness on the horizon

I’ve been the black witch before,
stealing other’s hearts
to fill the big hole in my soul,
with just one pinch of magic.
I didn’t want to hurt them,
I just wanted to feel again.
I’m so sick to be the black with
since I realized magic is only momentarily.

The evening passes,
it’s getting louder than before.
We’re the authors of stories no one will ever forget.
We kidnap the hearts of strangers,
in between consuming too much wine.
Voices and music are dancing in my hearing.
I live for these nights,
and wish they would never end.
